DON Responsibilities:- Supervise and manage the nursing department
- Responsible and accountable for the quality, service, and safety of resident care
- Be proactive in the development, organization, and implementation of facility practices to ensure regulatory compliance and changes in clinical practices/guidelines
- Help provide a safe, comfortable, home-like environment
- Other duties as assigned
DON Qualifications:
- Current licensure in the state of Wisconsin as a registered nurse
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing- One to two years of previous supervisory experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing techniques, their relation to medical and surgical practices, and skills in their application are essential
- A thorough understanding of modern principles and practices of nursing home administration is also a necessity
- Sound judgment, high moral standards, and a sincere desire to work with the aged and those with limited capacity for self care are vital to the success of this position
- Ability to understand and carry out technical oral and written instructions
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to accept and give directions
- Work well in a team environment
- Have a desire to make a difference in people’s lives
