The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), and the Wisconsin Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in Long-Term Care Coalition is pleased to announce “Hand Hygiene: A Resident Safety Imperative” conference for Wisconsin Nursing Homes. The conference will take place on October 15, 2019, at the Madison Marriott West Hotel and Conference Center in Madison.

The conference keynote will be delivered by Dr. John Boyce who was the lead co-author of the 2002 CDC Guideline for Hand Hygiene in Healthcare Settings.

Other presenters at the conference will address a variety of topics, including:

  • CDC/WHO hand hygiene guidelines
  • Product selection
  • Hand hygiene regulation including most common deficiencies
  • How to perform hand hygiene surveillance

This activity will be submitted to WNA CEAP for approval to award contact hours. Wisconsin Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The number of contact hours granted will depend upon sessions attended and return of the completed evaluation form.

Registration will begin in early September.
